Ever tried PUPS (PhotoUPloader for blogS)? This is probably the best companion to Blogsy for iPad.

Thanks again to Lance Barton, the founder and CEO of Blogsy (foloma.com).  When Lance made a comment to my previous blog, he recommended me to take a look of their latest app PUPS (PhotoUPloader for blogS).  He also corrected some of my mistakes in the post that Featured and Thumbnail in the Custom Fields can be set up in Blogsy instead of on the browser.

My original question was that I needed to upload the photo to the Media Library first.  From there I copied out the media URL to pasted onto the value area of the Custom Field. As I once mentioned, this was one of the hardest part when doing blogging on a browser on the iPad. Now, with the aid of PUPS, I wish I can upload photos taken from my iPhone or iPad effortlessly to the Media Library of this site.

If you are interested in knowing the features, see it for yourself for more details on this page. For me, there is nothing as ideal as to buy and install it at once on the iPhone, given the price is only US$0.99.  These are the steps I took to configure with this site:

  1. Buy from App Store and download
  2. Tap the app and it prompts to request you to set up a blog account

  3. Choose “WordPress” to continue

  7. Tap “Album” to select photo
  8. Tap to select the photos and tap “Next” (showing how many photos chosen)
  9. Select the blog and tab “Upload”

So far all functioned smoothly but I came across some issues uploading them to my site at this point.  I received the following message on my iPhone screen:

I felt a bit upset seeing this message.  Surprisingly this app offers you a way to give feedback or ask for help. You can tap “Send email” to connect to PUPS support embedded with the error code:  Blog returned invalid data. This was what I did: follow the screen and tap “Send email”. Several minutes later, Lance, on the end of the world, sent me an email trying to give me immediate assistance. Amazing!

We exchanged many emails scratching our heads to think about what has caused this issue. We thought about the WiFi connection but after uploading photos successfully to their test site, very soon Lance and his team diagnosed that the issue was more probably related to my site, not network or the app.

Later on I tried installing it on my iPad 4 but still I had no luck to go further.

I wish I have not given any extra pressure to Lance and his team, as they said they have not received any error message like this before. This may be a very special case on a blogger. I genuinely appreciate the effort they put in so far.  So I created an admin account for Lance and his team to test thoroughly and I believe they will find out the solution pretty soon.

Let me hear some good news from Lance and their team and tell you more in the next post.
