Stykkishmolmur to Westfjord by ferry

Because of the rain yesterday we did not have much luck with the scenery. So we decided to get up early should the sun come out again at anytime during the night. So we did! We woke up at 3:30am and was greeted by a perfect blue sky.

West Iceland

We woke up around 4.30pm. Yes, Iceland is in the season of midnight sun. There is no darkness. But we were not keen to try a life 24 hours non-stop. The morning was not chilly even it was 8C.

Our flight left Hong Kong International Airport around 1am starting the journey to Helsinki. It was a direct flight of nearly 10 hours. The flight path shown on the map of the tiny screen (4 – 5 inches) in front of me was brand new to us: it was flying through northern China, Mongolia and Russia.
